Propithecus Diadema Fetus - 2018

The winter doldrums hit me harder than usual this year and I was reeling from sadness and loss. I wanted to pour
my distress into a painting and remembered how sad I felt at seeing an anatomical illustration made in the 1800s (Grandidier). It was a fetus of the most beautiful lemur I have ever seen -Diademed Sifaka. At the same time I was studying Hieronymus Bosch and was inspired by one of his color palettes.
