Lemur Dress - 2013 (Saving Lemurs Through Art and Fashion) This dress was created for the 2013 “iConcept” Art Fashion Show presented by Art Center of Sarasota. The design for the skirt fabric was based on several lemur portraits from my “Lemur Mourning Series” and printed on silk/cotton. On the bodice is embroidered the handprint of one of my favorite Red Ruffed lemur females – Kintina. Kate Lippincott, a friend and fellow LCF board member, built the dress. I was inspired to make the dress strapless by my model Caitlin Flannery’s spectacular primate hand tattoos spread across her back. She pulled a plush toy of a lemur mounted on a tricycle behind her to the delight of all.
